Our Experience

"My name is Samuel Bishop and at the age of 17, I decided to pursue my passions for social development and conservation and carve a different path for myself. A self-funded volunteer trip to Zimbabwe after leaving school has inspired almost seven years of travel, work, and research across sub-Saharan Africa, recently extending to Asia.

This path is ultimately what has led me to discover and join the Bluemoon family in South Africa. Having volunteered and worked on a vast array of development initiatives across Africa, I can say without a doubt that Bluemoon is the organisation which has inspired me the most. The passion, energy and care that Hillary, Justin and the rest of the team channel into Bluemoon is unrivalled and this translates into life-changing benefits for the communities which they serve.

I've designed volunteer programmes, coordinated volunteers, and volunteered myself in multiple countries across different projects. Likewise, Hillary has already hosted close to 2000 volunteers from South Africa, Ireland, and the USA on Bluemoon's projects. We can't wait to lend our volunteerism expertise to our brand new international programme, expanding our family all around the world!"
